BUTT LIFT (BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT – BBL)
A butt lift is a surgical procedure that removes sagging and excess skin from the buttocks to sculpt a firm and crisp bottom. A more attractive and firm buttocks is desired. In butt lifts with body fat, known as Brazilian butt lifts, patients also desire a rounder and higher buttocks. In order to replenish buttock volume, body fat is extracted in a liposuction procedure and used to remodel the buttocks. As a nice side effect, this reduces fat deposits in unwanted areas, such as the abdomen or hips.
With a Brazilian Butt Lift, in addition to lifting the buttocks, the center of the body can also be optimized to meet aesthetic demands. The loss of volume caused by the natural aging process and the resulting visually unattractive sagging of the buttocks can be counteracted in this way. In addition, butt lifting helps with weak connective tissue and the unwanted formation of cellulite. The flat backside becomes round, crisp and firm again, giving patients a firmer and more defined body feeling.
Who Is a Butt Lift Suitable For?
A butt lift is suitable for all patients who suffer from sagging skin on the buttocks as a result of significant weight loss or as a result of the normal aging process and who desire a firmer, rounder buttocks.
Time Required
The duration of stay in the clinic is about 1 day. In some cases, patients stay in the hospital for a few days, but in many cases, no overnight stay is required. As an average length of stay in Turkey we recommend 1 week, in order to be able to visit the attending surgeon again if necessary.
Before the Butt Lift
In an initial consultation, the surgeon will discuss the exact procedure with the patient, determine the desired outcome of the treatment, and be able to address any questions or concerns the patient may have.
The surgeon will usually review previous medical history and perform tests, such as a blood test and physical exam. The patient is usually instructed not to take certain blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, before and after surgery and also to refrain from smoking.
How Is the Treatment Carried Out?
During a traditional butt lift, the surgeon makes incisions above the buttocks and around the hips. Excess skin and fat are removed and the buttock skin is tightly pulled together layer by layer and fixed with dissolvable sutures. After surgery, the wound is dressed and the patient is given compression garments to fix and relieve pressure on the buttocks.
During a Brazilian Butt Lift, fat deposits are removed from various areas of the body such as the abdomen, hips or thighs. The fat is removed by liposuction and then injected into the buttocks to create a firmer and a larger buttock volume. There is usually less scarring with a Brazilian butt lift because fat is mainly injected into the buttock cheeks.
Treatment duration and anesthesia: Usually, a butt lift is performed under general anesthesia. In rare cases, a local anesthetic with sedation is sufficient. The duration of treatment is about 1 to 3 hours.
After the Butt Lift
After the procedure, we provide the patient with special compression pants to support the new buttock shape and relieve pressure on the operated area. Due to swelling and slight pain, it may be difficult to sit down for some time.
It may take several months for the skin to fully recover and for the actual results of the buttock lift surgery to be fully visible.
Possible Risks.
Possible risks include infection, temporary numbness of the treated area, bleeding, swelling, bruising and scarring.
